So here you are at the soon-to-be-famous Hero Twins blog. Huzzah. As you may or may not know, we’re going on a teeny tiny bike ride from Jacksonville, Florida to San Diego, California, or rather what’s left of it. We’ve got the route maps to prove it. Part one is from Jacksonville, Fl to Lubbock, Tx. Part two is from Lubbock, Tx to San Diego, Ca. Click it. View it. Love it. Now check out the sweet beasts that are taking us there. Allow me to introduce you to my bike, the Penny-Farthing:

Kate built them with her own dirty filthy hands. So, let’s see, what’s been going on here in Boston… I arrived on Friday the 26th of October and Kate picked me up at the airport in a toucan costume. We then dropped off my bags and went to a Halloween party where we got, uh, slightly buzzed after which Kate (supposedly) proceeded to chuck heaping piles of sticky food at the walls and got us kicked out for being too loud. Kate doesn’t dick around when she parties. Other than that it’s mostly just been hanging about and imposing on Kate’s incredibly generous and kind friends. Tonight will be more shenanigans and tomorrow it’s off to Florida followed by the actual start of the ride on the 2nd. Crazy, right? What have we gotten ourselves into this time…. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Marlin, Tx appears to be about as close to College Station, TX as you will get. It is about an hour North in a motorized vehicle. Let me know when in the area… if you can’t stop by for rest, fuel and refreshments then I may be able to arrange a small motorcycle escort for a ways.

Don’t know what it says, but I do know 4 things about it: 1) it’s sweet. 2) It says you are — or will be “muscular”. 3) You’re crazy (which is good… probably got that from me). And 4) You’re a STAR!!!

So, why’s the mighty Thunderdome laddened with so much more than the Penny-Farthing (excelent name, by the way)? Who’s the muscle in this opperation, anyway?
Just look at the two of you! All grown up! And to think I bounced you both on my knees not 5 years ago… and now both of you are riding mighty steeds across fierce lands, conquering the earth in bloody, visceral battles one-hundred miles at a time, cutting terrible swathes into our great 50!
Just the two of you, yet narry a more capable duo was here seen! Master Steed, full of ropey muscles and tendons, taught and ready with a head full of Kangi and a belly full of beer, saddled atop that swift beast Penny-Farthing. And young Kate to boot, already a poop-flinging party-smashing, howler monkey, driver of the imposing war-charger, knoble Thunderdome! Dang’it, how time, she does fly!
Boy, this is going to be tough without the warm, calming asurance of spellcheck.
